The Quangle Wangle's Back! - Making sense of the nonsense! - Children's Book by Rob Hann (Author) and Howard Barton (Illustrator) - Paperback
The shy, mysterious Quangle Wangle Quee
has been sitting on top of the crumpetty tree for nearly 150 years attracting all manner of weird and wonderful creatures to set up home in his enormous beaver hat. But what happens when a very stinky fly lands nearby, which carries a smell that brings tears to the eye?
Edward Lear's classic nonsense rhyme is here in all its glory and 're-imagined' for the 21st century by Rob Hann, with the specific objective of joining up the generations through reading and rhyme.
Lear's original illustrations have been imaginatively recreated by Howard Barton in this omnibus edition of the timeless Quangle Wangle story.
This black and white illustrated book contains: The original Edward Lear nonsense rhyme 'the Quangle Wangle's Hat' . A sequel 'the Quangle Wangle's Back! written by author Rob Hann.
From the author: 'Last year I entered a competition to pitch an idea to a panel of judges aimed at improving mental health. I entered hoping to persuade the audience and panel that my new children's book 'The Quangle Wangle's Back!' might help join up the generations through reading and rhyme, given the older generation are likely to have read poems by Edward Lear in their youth and by using the new book they could introduce Edward Lear's amazing creativity to a new generation of children. I was lucky enough to be among the winners on the night.'
